Google Drive Troubleshooting
When integrating Google Drive with AI Chat for Business, some users may encounter issues such as files not syncing properly or documents not appearing in the bot's knowledge base. What we have seen previous clients do to fix these common issues are the following steps:
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve your issue, a fallback option is to download the files directly from Google Drive and import them using our document import feature. This method allows you to upload files manually, ensuring they are included in your bot's knowledge base. For detailed instructions on how to import documents, check our help article on Document Uploading.
- Check Permissions: Ensure that the Google Drive files you want to sync are shared with the appropriate permissions. The AI Chat for Business platform requires at least viewing permissions for the files. You can check and adjust permissions by right-clicking on the file in Google Drive, selecting 'Share', and confirming that the bot's associated Google account has access.
- Reconnect Google Drive: If you've made changes to permissions or if files still do not appear, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google Drive account in the AI Chat for Business settings. Go to the Integrations section, find Google Drive, and click 'Disconnect'. After a few moments, reconnect your account to refresh the integration.
- Verify File Types: Make sure the documents you are trying to sync are in compatible formats such as PDF, DOCX, or TXT. Unsupported file types will not be processed by the platform. You can find a list of supported formats in our documentation.
